How Are We Different
Our Philosophy

Our trustee working with the team
In our experience, the communities ask for long-term sustainable support to help themselves to work their own way out of poverty.
They need the basic infrastructure like water, seeds, tools, fishing nets, access to education and basic healthcare. We have met some amazing and inspiring people who have the know how, work ethic and enthusiasm to help themselves, they just need a helping hand to get there.
Why we are different?
With the trustees business and commercial background, we are able to ensure that money is spent frugally, wisely and targeted at the local people and communities on the ground. We have prided ourselves on keeping overhead and promotional costs at a minimum.
All of the trustees pay their own expenses we ensure we gain maximum value for money on every item we buy.
Employing an amazing team of local people, has helped to support more families in Africa.
In addition:
- We provide a fast, professional service that is a gold standard model within The Gambia to benefit directly the people of Africa who are most in need. Depending on the geographical area, we can drill a borehole within 48hours.
- We aim to achieve at least 80% of field expenditure from money raised
- We implement all projects through our own teams set up in the local regions, employing and training local people, managed and supported from the UK.
- We train local teams within the communities to take ownership of projects on a day to day basis and to provide continued long-term support.
- All of our projects are implemented in agreement with and with the full co-operation and support of the local communities.
- We are based locally to provide continued back-up and support to the communities after the work has beeen completed
- The services of our local academies are available to other local and international government bodies and international charities who are attempting to improve the lives of the people of Africa suffering from endemic poverty.
