Water For Africa has discovered that boreholes are the safest, healthiest and most efficient way to provide water to rural communities. A borehole not only provides water for health but also provides the village with a constant supply of water for irrigation to grow crops all year around.


£5 to save a pregnant woman's life.

It's a reality that small amounts of money save lives, providing that the money is spent on the resources that people need the most. For example, women regularly die from anaemia in pregnancy across Africa . A pot of iron/folic acid/Vit B12 tablets to prevent anaemia costs between £2 - £5.


£6 - £9 to prevent malaria.

Impregnated mosquito nets are very cheap to buy and can prevent families from contracting and dying from malaria ( An estimated 300 - 500 million clinical malaria cases and more than one million malaria deaths occur each year. The vast majority of these occur in sub-Saharan Africa .
